Terms of Use

Last updated: October 25, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to Sorted Finance at https://sortedfinance.com (the “Site”), including calculators, checklists, glossary entries, guides, and related materials. Continuing to browse or use the Site means you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you cannot accept them, leave the Site and do not rely on its content.

1. Who may use the Site

You may use Sorted Finance only if you have legal capacity to agree to these Terms and only in ways that follow applicable law. The audience we write for is adults who want clearer intuition about money math and common personal-finance ideas. How you reach the Site—and anything done through your network or devices—is your responsibility.

2. Learning materials, not professional services

Tools, checklists, definitions, sample walkthroughs, and articles on Sorted Finance are general education. They are not any of the following:

  • Financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting, or other licensed advice
  • A loan solicitation, pre-approval, locked rate, underwriting result, or credit grant
  • A directive to borrow, refinance, buy, sell, hold, or select a specific product
  • A guarantee of future payments, balances, market returns, or tax results

You decide whether an estimate or explanation fits your facts. Cross-check against lender packages, statements, plan documents, and guidance from people qualified for your case. Our Financial Disclaimer restates these boundaries in more detail.

3. Estimates, organizers, and definitions

Calculator screens show approximate outcomes from your inputs and stripped-down models. Models may ignore fees, insurance, taxes, points, mortgage insurance, floating rates, promotions, penalties, and other product wrinkles. Rounding alone can diverge from a bank, card issuer, or brokerage. Checklists arrange questions; they do not underwrite or advise. Glossary text is teaching language—not the controlling definition in a contract.

The methodology page describes our estimating posture; individual tools add their own notes. Official account paperwork always outranks a Site sketch.

4. No signup wall for basic browsing

You do not need an account for ordinary use. If you write to us, use a reachable address and keep the tone lawful—no spam campaigns, harassment, threats, or illegal attachments. We may keep correspondence as outlined in the Privacy Policy.

5. Ownership of Site materials

Copy, design, branding, calculator interfaces, checklist text, glossary entries, graphics, and software on the Site are owned by Sorted Finance or by parties who license rights to us. Copyright and related laws protect that work. You may read and use materials for your own non-commercial learning. You may not scrape at scale, republish, license, or redistribute large portions of the Site without our prior written OK, except where a statutory exception such as fair use clearly covers the use.

Marks, logos, and the Sorted Finance name stay with us. Do not imply sponsorship or affiliation unless we have agreed in writing. Feedback you send about bugs or wording may be used to improve the Site without obligation to compensate you.

6. Conduct we do not allow

While using the Site you agree that you will not:

  • Pursue illegal ends through or against the Site
  • Flood, probe, or otherwise interfere with availability for others
  • Vacuum content in a way that strains infrastructure or breaks these Terms
  • Pass off Site estimates as official bank, lender, or advisor paperwork
  • Deliver malware or seek entry to systems you have no right to touch
  • Automate heavy access that degrades service, aside from ordinary public search-engine crawling of pages meant to be public

If we reasonably conclude that you breached these Terms or endangered the Site or other people, we may throttle, suspend, or block access.

7. Third-party destinations and ads

The Site may point elsewhere or display advertising. We do not operate those destinations and do not control their products or privacy practices. Deals you make with advertisers or linked operators are between you and them. Review their terms before you rely on them.

8. Warranty posture

THE SITE AND EVERYTHING ON IT ARE OFFERED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE UNBROKEN UPTIME, PERFECT ACCURACY, OR THAT ANY OUTPUT WILL MATCH A LENDER QUOTE, ACCOUNT STATEMENT, OR PROFESSIONAL ANALYSIS.

9. Caps on damages

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, SORTED FINANCE AND ITS OWNERS, AUTHORS, AND VENDORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS CHANCE, ARISING FROM OR CONNECTED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE—EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM TIED TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100) OR WHATEVER YOU PAID US (IF ANYTHING) TO ACCESS THE SITE DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, WHICHEVER FIGURE IS HIGHER. WHERE LOCAL RULES BAR SOME LIMITS, WE LIMIT LIABILITY AS FAR AS THOSE RULES STILL PERMIT.

10. Your indemnity promise

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sorted Finance and its owners, authors, and providers against claims, damages, losses, and costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) that stem from how you misuse the Site, break these Terms, or violate law or someone else’s rights.

11. Updates to the Site and these Terms

We may alter, pause, or retire features at any time. We may revise these Terms by posting a new version with a new “Last updated” date. Keeping using the Site after a revision means you accept the updated Terms. If you disagree, stop using the Site.

12. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protections where you live require a different result. Subject to those protections, Delaware courts have exclusive venue for disputes arising under these Terms.

13. Catch-all provisions

If one clause fails, the others remain in force. Not enforcing a provision once is not a waiver. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Financial Disclaimer, are the full agreement between you and us about the Site and supersede earlier understandings on that topic.

14. Questions
