About Sorted Finance
Sorted Finance is for people who want money numbers laid out clearly—monthly payments, payoff paths, savings growth, retirement sketches—then explained in language that does not assume you already work in finance. We publish free tools and educational writing. We do not sell loans or push a product ranking.
Why we built this
A lot of personal-finance noise arrives as slogans. Sorted Finance starts from a narrower job: help you organize the math and the questions around a decision you are already considering. What might a fixed-rate payment look like? How long could a card balance take if the payment stays the same? What does APR mean on this offer? You get a calculator when the math helps, a checklist when the steps matter, a glossary when a term is fuzzy, and a guide when the story around the numbers needs room.
What you will find here
Calculators cover mortgages, installment loans, compound interest, investments, retirement projections, and credit card payoff. Checklists help you gather documents and questions before you talk to a lender or open a statement. The glossary defines common terms in plain English. Guides walk through worked examples and call out what a simple model leaves out.
How the calculators behave
Estimates run in your browser. You do not need an account to try a scenario. Inputs stay on your device for the calculation itself. Results are educational estimates—not offers, approvals, rate locks, or investment forecasts. Each tool page notes assumptions; our methodology page describes the broader approach.
Editorial standards
We prefer a concrete question, round-number examples you can redo by hand, and honest limits (fees, taxes, variable rates, underwriting). We do not invent guaranteed returns or tell you which card or loan to buy. When a claim rests on an assumption, the page says so. Content is educational only—see the financial disclaimer.
Who writes here
Guides are written by named contributors focused on teaching, not licensed advice. Bios appear on individual guides and below. Meet Aisha Kent and Marcus Reid.
Aisha Kent
Lead editor, money education
Aisha Kent leads educational content at Sorted Finance. Her work focuses on turning loan, savings, and budget math into steps a household can check with a calculator and a notebook. She highlights assumptions and limits in every piece. Aisha does not provide personalized financial, tax, or legal advice. Articles are checked against the site methodology and calculator formulas before publishing.
Marcus Reid
Writer, credit & repayment strategy
Marcus Reid writes about credit cards, installment loans, and repayment sequencing for Sorted Finance. Pieces emphasize what a line on a statement means, when a simplified model stops helping, and how to compare offers without treating illustrations as promises. Marcus is not a credit counselor or licensed advisor.
